Einstein looking good for Firecracker Handicap!
Einstein is looking to figure big in the one-mile Firecracker Handicap at Churchill Downs racecourse on Friday.
Einstein goes to the Firecracker Handicap equipped with two victories on turf so far this year, one of which was his 2008 debut at Gulfstream Park racecourse in January.
He was second on turf in the Maker's Mark at Keeneland racecourse and was also second to 2007 Horse of the Year, Curlin, in the Stephen Foster Handicap held at the Main Track of Churchill Downs racecourse.
These achievements have certainly upped the possibilities of Einstein bagging the top prize in the Firecracker Handicap.
Einstein is trained by Helen Pitts for lessees Patrica Cunningham and Melissa Green.
The $200,000 Firecracker Handicap has traditionally served as the book-end for the spring/summer meet at Churchill Downs racecourse.
Einstein is expected to face stiff challenge from Thorn Song. Thorn Song is from Zayat Stables and faced Einstein in the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic also at Churchill Downs racecourse. He placed sixth to Einstein.
Inca King is another horse that looks like a threat to Einstein. Inca King is currently unbeaten in three starts over the turf track at Churchill Downs racecourse.
