In Summation tops Monday's Palos Verdes Handicap!
In Summation is expected to be a favorite among the seven competitors entered in the Grade II $150,000 Palos Verdes Handicap to be held on Monday at Santa Anita Racecourse.
The five-year-old In Summation will carry a weight of 122 pounds and will be enjoying the synthetic surface that he seems to be very fond of.
In Summation had quite a Cinderella story in 2007. In Summation won his first five races as a 2-year-old, but fell into a 10-race losing streak. He won at the turf at Monmouth Park last June 23 and then proceeded to win 3 of his next 4 races in synthetic surfaces, and this including his first graded event in Del Mar's Grade I Bing Crosby Handicap.
His only synthetic setback came when missing by ¾ length while a much-troubled second in Hollywood Park 's Grade III Vernon O. Underwood Stakes last Dec. 2.
Jockey Corey Nakatani will be on board In Summation in the Palos Verdes Handicap. Trained by Christophe Clement, the son of Put It Back is the field's leading earner with a net of $815,166 from an overall record of 9-5-0 in 20 races.
In Summation will face several formidable competitors in the Palos Verdes Handicap and thes are Surf Cat, Barbecue Eddie, Ididn'tdoanything, Fly Dorcego, Copa de Plata, and Soul City Slew.
The Palos Verdes Handicap is scheduled as the eighth race on Santa Anita Racecourse's 10-race program celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. |
