Lucky Omens looking good for Ord Minnett Handicap!
Lucky Omens is being pointed to the Caulfield Guineas in October if he makes a big splash in the Ord Minnett Handicap at Eagle Farm Racecourse on Saturday.
Lucky Omens trainer Bryan Guy has opined that his horse will need to prove first that he is capable in his new stepped-up class before he's thrown full blast at Melbourne .
"If he wins on Saturday then he should just about have enough prize money to get into the Caulfield Guineas but if he doesn't then we could always take him to Sydney first." said Guy.
Lucky Omens' impressive five-length triumph on 30 July 2008 at Eagle Farm Racecourse was what prompted this step-up in class. That was only his second race start.
Guy is quite confident that Lucky Omens will not give him a disappointing performance at Eagle Farm Racecourse this Saturday.
"He's going great. He's done everything I've asked of him since his Eagle Farm win and he should give a good account of himself again," Guy said.
Tears'n'cheers is expected to give Lucky Omens the most significant challenge at the Ord Minnett Handicap. |
