Legendary Man raring to seize Winter Cup!
Legendary Man seems all set to make a big mark on Saturday when he returns to Rosehill Racecourse for the Winter Cup.
Legendary Man seems to have a noticeable bond with Rosehill Racecourse. Legendary Man has clearly shown this as he has missed a place just once in nine runs at Rosehill Racecourse.
The 2,400-metre Winter Cup marks the six-year-old Legendary Man's return to his favourite venue. Trainer Ken Lantry hopes that a firm surface will be on hand at Rosehill Racecourse as Legendary Man has already failed on wet ground twice in Brisbane .
"Rosehill does seem to be his track," Lantry acknowledged.
"He's had a few problems in the past, he fractured a pelvis and strained a tendon and since then he's had no confidence on wet ground.
The Winter Cup also marks the first time Legendary Man will tackle up 2,400 metres. Trainer Lantry admitted that he's still on the fence on whether Legendary Man will be up to the challenge of this distance.
"He's run well over 2,000 metres and he's won over 1,900 metres, it's an extra 400 metres and I'm not sure how he'll go with that but if he's ever going to run it, now is the time to find out."
Legendary Man will face 10 competitors at Rosehill Racecourse on Saturday. He will carry 56kg with Nash Rawiller booked for the mount. Nuclear Sky will carry the heaviest load at 58kg while the promising stayer Get Up Jude is one of eight horses carrying 53kg. |
