Akronism ready to strut her stuff in Seaway Stakes!
Akronism appears all set to make a big splash in the $150,000 Seaway Stakes on 06 September 2008 at Woodbine racecourse.
Many observers have opined that if Akronism performs the way she did when she took the six-furlong Royal North Stakes at Woodbine racecourse, she will have a good shot in the Seaway Stakes.
However, there is a one-furlong difference between the Seaway Stakes and the Royal North Stakes and that might have an impact on Akronism's performance. Her post position might also be a factor in her performance in the Seaway Stakes.
The Royal North Stakes was Akronism's first Canadian tourney. In addition, she finished in the money in three stakes campaigns earlier this year. These victories have made her one to look out for in the Seaway Stakes.
Trainer Tim Ritchey has decided to tap Canadian jockey Eurico Rosa Da Silva for Akronism's foray in the Seaway Stakes at Woodbine racecourse.
Akronism will face competition from the likes of Marina Ballerina, My List and Executive Flight. Marina Ballerina was defeated by Akronism in the Royal North Stakes and she will look to post a win over her erstwhile tormentor in the Seaway Stakes.

My List was the winner in the Hendrie and Whimsical Stakes. She will be under the direction of Emma-Jayne Wilson at Woodbine racecourse.
Executive Flight finished in the top three in four stakes events in 2008 so far. She won in the Sweet Briar Too and drops back from the 1 1/16 miles of the Victoriana Stakes on grass. She will be ridden by James McAleney.
Other contenders in the Woodbine racetrack extravaganza are Street Sounds, Lomaki, Lucas Street , and That Girl Is Mine. |
