Luca Cumani to partner with Jamie Spencer on Saturday at Doncaster!
Luca Cumani revealed that jockey Jamie Spencer will be riding his steed Time Control at Doncaster Racecourse on Saturday, thus extinguishing speculation that he had a rift with the jockey.
Saturday's Doncaster Racecourse ride will be Spencer's first for Luca Cumani since riding Curtain Call in the Epsom Derby, where they ended up tenth behind New Approach.
"A lot of fuss has been made of it," Cumani said. "There has been all this talk of rifts, but as I said last week, I don't do rifts. I hope this now lays the matter to rest."
"It did not go strictly according to plan at Epsom," Luca Cumani said, "but with hindsight we could not have beaten the first three - whatever happened. I think Curtain Call is better than his finishing position [tenth] but I will be surprised if he beats any of the first three home in Ireland . The Derby was a very strong race."
While Jamie Spencer rode Curtain Call in the Epsom Classic for the Cumani, Fran Berry rides the three-year-old in the Irish Derby at the weekend.
