Sensational Horse Racing Action in the UK's Newest Racecourse!
Great Leighs Racecourse is a thoroughbred horse racecourse in Great Leighs, near Chelmsford, Essex, England. Great Leighs Racecourse is just about fifty miles from the UK's largest racehorse training centre in Newmarket.
When it opened in April 2008, it was the first completely new racecourse in the UK in 80 years.
Great Leighs Racecourse is owned by entrepreneur John Holmes and his son, Jonathan. Great Leighs Racecourse was established with the aim of serving the horse racing needs of Essex, the largest unserved area in UK horse racing.
