Seachange ready to make a big splash at Falmouth Stakes!
The six-yer-old New Zealand mare Seachange is expected to make her swan song a very memorable one in next week's Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket Racecourse.
Seachange galloped on Newmarket Racecourse's July Course on Wednesday morning under Ted Durcan and her performance can only be described as steadily improving ahead of her Falmouth Stakes race next week.
Seachange is a multiple Group One winner in the Southern Hemisphere but placed only 12th on her British debut in the Golden Jubilee Stakes at Ascot Racecourse.
Although drawn on the wrong side of the racecourse, she has also subsequently been treated for a muscle problem.
Seachange is being prepared for retirement after her Falmouth Stakes run.
Seachange, who moved to trainer Graeme Sanders in the spring, has been lodged in Newmarket Racecourse for some time.
Sanders now hopes he has her ready for the step back up in trip, and reported: "It all went very well today - it was probably the best piece of work she has done since she got here.
"She just had one or two niggly little problems since Ascot but she seems fine and has probably improved a bit for the run. |
